KCTV 5Family warns temporary tattoos may cause permanent damage

Temporary henna tattoos are supposed to wash away within a week, but that's not always the case.
A Leawood family came back from Miami Beach last month with so many wonderful memories they captured on camera.
"Me and my brother went boogie boarding and we went searching for jellyfish," said Bennett Molitor-Kirsch.
But during the vacation, the family also tried something new.
"A gentleman came down the beach and asked if anyone was interested in getting henna tattoos," said mother Erica Molitor-Kirsh. "Bennett asked if he could have a tattoo, and so I thought it was innocent and we all got a tattoo, and we all did fine. Didn't think anything of it."
Within a few days, Bennett Molitor-Kirsch's temporary tattoo washed away, but a month after the family got back from their trip, they discovered there was a disturbing side effect.
"It kinda itched and still itches - not as often as it used to," said Bennett Molitor-Kirsch.
