The Moundsville Police Department was searching Wednesday for a man accused of sexually abusing two teenage girls, and officials said they believe he is armed and dangerous.
John Tedrow, 32, of Moundsville is wanted for two counts of unlawfully engaging in sexual intercourse with a minor, two counts of sexual assault with a minor and three counts of producing child pornography. Authorities allege Tedrow filmed at least one of the encounters, leading to the child pornography charge.
Tedrow is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall. He weighs 240 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
The search for Tedrow has been complicated because Tedrow has an identical twin brother, prompting authorities to be extra cautious when following up on tips. The two men are being distinguished by their tattoos, as John Tedrow has a tattoo that looks like flames on his left arm and birds and a sun on his left forearm.
The department learned of the alleged encounters after friends of Tedrow came forward with the information. Police have been unable to track down Tedrow, though on Tuesday Lt. Don DeWitt said several leads had been given to the department. The department, along with the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force, spent Monday following leads and received information that Tedrow could be in Ohio.
