Missing Monroe man's body found
18.05.12
MONROE — The family of Charles Steven Parker
has found a degree of peace now that his body has been found. But
they remain fervent that there is still much to do in finding those
responsible for his untimely death.
“We are saddened, but there is still a sense
of peace knowing he was found,” Parker’s wife, Kenisha, said at a
press conference Tuesday, adding she never lost hope he would be
found. “I had faith in God. And my husband is alive, just not on
this earth.”
“Our initial prayers have been answered,”
Patrick Parker Jr. said, older brother of the victim. “From this,
we believe the authorities will continue to investigate and bring
justice to the Parker home. And it is up to us to remain prayerful,
to remain strong. This is a time of sadness, but it is a time of
peace because he has been recovered.”
Using a tattoo to make a preliminary
determination, investigators have identified the body found Monday
in a well in Oglethorpe County as that of Monroe resident Charles
Steven Parker, a Monroe resident who was last seen Jan. 15.
