Well-know country music singer/songwriter Dale Watson dropped by Body Adorned this afternoon for a little tattooing. He had an appointment with Adam Roach to get a ‘touch-up’ on the portrait of one of his daughters. Adam began the tattoo about a year ago while he was tattooing at Amillion Tattoos- shortly before we opened Body Adorned.

To make things even more interesting, the whole thing was filmed by Voice of America video journalist Suli Yi for broadcast in China! While Dale is known and loved by Austinites, and country music fans everywhere, the majority of his fan base is overseas. Mr. Yi says that the Chinese government is unable to control what comes into the country by satellite transmission. He says that the Chinese people are fascinated with American television and the images of life in America. So it seems our own Adam Roach will soon be famous in the land of Mao. Since this is going to be broadcast on Voice of America, it’s very possible the Adam and Dale will play a small part in the liberation of the Chinese people!

Adam and Dale have a close friendship that extends outside the tattoo studio and onto the stage. The two have performed together, collaborated on songs and have a great deal of respect for one another’s talents. Dale discussed future plans of having Adam finish his ‘sleeves.’ Plans include another portrait of his other daughter.
