Raised in Texas, self taught artist, Bobby Love gleaned early creative inspiration from his artistic mother. Bobby started toying with tattooing in 1989 while in the Army in upstate New York.
He made the move to New York City in 1991 where he took a position asart director for Tower Records Annex allowing him to perfect hisairbrushing
skills, and later became a professional tattooer at Venus Body Arts.
He relocated to New Orleans a few years later where he continued tattooing and
was introduced to sign painting, pinstriping, and other vehicle graphics by friend and mentor Ernie Gosnell. In 1996, Bobby, Ernie, and Lynn, Ernie's wife at the time, moved to Seattle where they opened Lucky Devil Tattoo Parlor.
Bob quickly grew tired of the rain and came back to sunny Texas in 1997 where he has become an established and recognized artist. Bob, first, worked at Diamond Glenn's River City Tattoo and then helped to build, and establish, True Blue Tattoo as one of Austin's great tattoo studios.
After 6 years of working on 6th Street, Bob decided that he needed a change of pace, and a new environment- one that would encourage, and enable, his creativity and allow him to focus on more custom work. He found what he was looking for at Body Adorned.
Bob's diverse talents span the range from oil to acrylic to watercolor, from sign painting to pinstriping to mural art. His unique painted velvet cow skulls are on display at Antigua on South Congress, and his art is often shown at Blue Genie Art Bazaars.
His distinctive sign painting can be seen all over Austin, and his quality tattoo work graces bodies from coast to coast.
