Contestants came back to help them. R.J. chose Becki, Brea, and Matt. Ian went for Heather, Sue, and Tara. Rayce chose Heather, Jerry, and Miranda.
Ian jumped out of the gate first, deciding on a Lucifer-like character pulling two demons from hell with chains. Rayce weighed in next, creating characters from alternate dimensions with one being torn between the other two. R.J. was slower in making his choice. However, he decided upon a Phoenix with evil and good figures vying to control it.
Subtle changes in makeup design occurred after the artists met with the dance choreographers. They advised the artists on what would and would not work based on the planned routine.
Tasks happened like clockwork until Ian's hand molds yielded less than satisfactory results. It threw his team behind, ultimately causing them to cut back on the paint job they wanted.
R.J. fought with his teammates to keep them on track and to keep complete control. He demanded perfection and not cartoon quality. That forced him to make adjustments to Athena's Phoenix head.
