Protestors react sharply to tattoo parlour fly-poster

A tattoo parlour that sparked a poison pen campaign from a disgruntled activist has continued to stir up debate among residents in a market town.
Last week Bedfordshire on Sunday reported how Planet 13 in Dunstable Street, Ampthill were on the receiving end of circulating rumours after hundreds of leaflets were distributed to nearby properties.
The complainant had suggested that the tattoo parlour was ‘not in keeping with the town’ as well as claiming it wasn’t legally allowed to be there.
However the campaign only served to add woe to the mysteryflyer- posting resident after the BoS website was flooded with overwhelming support for the shop.
BoS reader Chris Hayes wrote: “I am embarrassed by the small minority of Ampthill residents who think they live in a Georgian theme park. This is a living breathing town and all that goes with that. Tattoos do not equate to social stigma that perhaps they did. Better to have a tattoo parlour than an empty shop.”
