It wasn’t until he was admitted to hospital in critical condition that doctors eventually diagnosed congenital heart disease.
He spent six and half hours undergoing open heart surgery at Yorkhill Children’s Hospital to save his young life.
Since then Aiden, who has just celebrated his second birthday with Jackie and his dad Christopher McCreadie, has been under the careful watch of staff at the hospital.
And as he grows up he’ll have to undergo at least one further open heart surgery and it’s believed that he will likely need a heart transplant.
Jackie explained: “It’s really important that we raise awareness of congenital heart disease, it’s really quite shocking that very few people know anything about it.
“To be honest I didn’t either until Aiden was diagnosed. It was a terrible experience and it nearly killed him.
“The more people know about it the better, and the more money that can be raised then the better care children like Aiden will receive.”
