Tough Mudder UK - review: No ordinary endurance event

This is no ordinary endurance event. It is not a race, but a challenge - no prize for first past the post, only the overwhelming sense of achievement as, hand in hand, you tumble together with your team - or stranger you've picked up along the way - over the line to receive the coveted orange headband and all important free beer.
And boy is the beer well earned. As I guzzled it still shaking from the cold, friends and family tended to my aching body, concerned by the teeth chattering and defined limp I had developed. The beaming smile told them it hurt but that nothing was going to detract from my sheer delight.
Behind me I had left mile upon mile of sludge, mud and grime, thigh burning inclines, slippery slopes, haystack towers, underground tunnels, flaming rubble, barbed wire, electroshock tentacles and more dunking in and out of icy water than your average hungry penguin.
