On April 8. The menu will feature a buffet of menu items, including omelet and carving stations with accompaniments, smoked salmon and peel-and-eat shrimp. Seatings are at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The cost, which includes zoo admission, is $49 for adults and $35 for children 3-11 (zoo members pay $39 and $29, respectively). Children age 2 and under eat for free. Both events will feature anappearance from Mr. and Mrs. Bunny, who will be on hand for photo opportunities. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Banjo Buddies. Additionally, some of Children’s Zoo’s critters will visit. Reservations are required; call (708) 688-8355 or visit www.CZS.org/Events.
The Agape Ringers, a Chicago handbell ensemble, will perform in concert at First Congregational Church, 1106 Chestnut, Western Springs, at 4 p.m. April 15. While the concert is open to everyone and tickets will not be sold in advance, an offering will be taken during the concert, with a suggested donation of $10 per person. The Agape Ringers group is noted for orchestrated presentations of varied music. The April program encompasses transcriptions of works including “Passacaglia” by Handel and “The Ball” by Bizet, hymn arrangements, original compositions for handbells, and Sousa’s “The Stars and Stripes Forever.” See www.agaperingers.org. for information.
