When you think of tattoos, what’s the first thought that comes to your mind? Is it a big rugged biker who has mom written inside a barbed-wire heart?
Do you think of a drunken lower back Tweety Bird mishap?
Or do you think of something sentimental?
I used to think that tattoos were only meant for the Lil Waynes of this world. Growing up at a south Florida country club, I rarely saw them.
Go to South Beach on the other hand and… well, you get the picture.
You always hear horror stories of the couples that got matching tattoos or inked their significant other’s name and a year later, they were broken up.
It never crossed my mind to get a tattoo. It just seemed so…permanent. I never had a good reason to get one until a couple of days ago.
Not to get all serious on you, but this past weekend, my grandfather died of a stroke. I couldn’t think of a good enough way to commemorate the amazing person he was.
Obviously I will never forget him, but the idea of getting a small tattoo to remember him suddenly seemed like a good idea. I’m waiting on it, because I don’t think that tattoos should be made in an emotional state [Read: lover tattoos or drunken Tweety].
