Lissimore Works His Way In
23.05.12
The fact that Sean Lissemore has a tattoo on his upper right arm isn't surprising, as tats are practically a part of the NFL uniform these days. Nor is the fact that his ink is in Gaelic, considering the Cowboys' 24-year-old defensive lineman has red beard stubble and freckles. Even the phrase "Tada Gan Iarracht," translated as "nothing without effort," is a fairly common sentiment among athletes, from weekend warriors to the pros. No pain, no gain.
The only surprise, really, is that the tattoo is just a tattoo. It is exactly what it appears to be. What you see is what you get. However, you quickly discover that the surface rarely reveals the whole story.
With Lissemore, you may see a 6-4, 305-pound block of granite. You don't expect to find speed.
He was an all-league performer on the track team at Dumont High School in North Jersey. Yes, he threw the shot put, but he was also a competitive sprinter, with a personal-best time of 11.2 seconds in the 100-meter dash. Lissemore
