Inverness mum's bid to become tattoo queen

: "It’s an amazing contest. So far there are 53 entrants from around the UK, I’m the only one from the Highlands as far as I know. People are already voting online.
"The deadline date for entries is March 1, after which the 20 highest rated entrants will be announced and judging will take place by public vote finishing on April 21. This reduces the number to 10 for the finals. I would be delighted to get through as many entrants are models, whereas I’m a normal woman from Inverness who works and enjoys getting tattoos."
Amy, a support worker and mum to three-year-old Ewan, said her interest was sparked as a youngster when her auntie got a cat tattooed on her shoulder.
She explained: "Six days after my 18th, when I was legally allowed to get a tattoo done, I got a heartagram at the bottom of my back. It’s about a couple of inches in size and it was sore!"
However, despite the pain, she went on to add further ink images.
These have included heart-shaped ivy stretching from her left foot to her hip which took four hours to apply; two carrousel horses, a helter skelter and two roses on her back that took two artists 11 hours to colour; and two gypsies, a lotus flower and flames on her chest.
